Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Saniderm Instructions

Leave your Saniderm bandage on for 2-5 days. I recommend waiting to remove it until it peels of easily on its own. It’s waterproof so it’s fine in the shower, but avoid submerging in water. When you remove your bandage, wash gently with warm water and liquid antibacterial soap. Dry with paper towel. Let tattoo air out as much as possible, and avoid wearing restrictive clothing over it while it’s healing. When it feels dry you can apply a plain lotion like regular Curel or Curel Itch Defense. Don’t overapply! No swimming or tanning until your tattoo is healed, which will take 1-2 weeks. Avoid picking or scratching your tattoo, and once it’s healed use sunscreen when you’re in the sun to keep it looking fresh!

Traditional (plastic wrap bandage) instructions

Leave your wrap on for up to 4 hours if possible. Remove the bandage and wash gently with warm water and liquid unscented antibacterial soap, wipe with paper towel to get all the gunk off and then rinse and dry gently. Apply a very small amount of Aquaphore. Wash 1-2 times per day and apply Aquaphore for the first few days, when it begins to dry out and peel you can use a regular plain lotion on it if its dry and itchy, but don’t overdo it. No swimming or tanning until your tattoo is healed, which will take 1-2 weeks. Avoid picking or scratching your tattoo, and once it’s healed use sunscreen when you’re in the sun to keep it looking fresh!
